Director Of Nursing

Small facility with licensed 48 beds. Assess, direct, supervise and set resident care standards, Complete and maintain nursing schedule. Review MARS's , TARS's,  Physician orders, lab schedule and weight reports monthly. Nursing staff evaluations, review referral and coordinate with physicians, Establish and maintain nursing care policies and procedures, Review MDS prior to locking and sending, Interview new hires, Participate in all family care meeting, Act as an liason between the medical community and state organization, Establlish and maintain nursing care policies and procedures as well as participate in the development and implementation of policies,  Bi-weekly on call rotation, Make daily rounds and get report, Provide continous quality improvement by monitoring wounds, infections, and incidents and report weekly to Administrator as well as infection control tracking and trending. Maintain infection control policies, Monitor meal time to ensure infection control is followed,  Compete annual skills testing on nursing personnel to ensure knowledge and practice of proper skills, Meet monthly with pharmacy to evaluate medication policies/practices and to destroy old medications, Conduct monthly QA meetings
