SUMMARY
The Director of Nursing for Long Term Care is responsible for all aspects of nursing care within the Nursing & Rehabilitation facility. Partnering with the Chief Nursing Officer, Administrator, Medical Director, physician staff and nursing leaders, they develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and quality resident care.
Conveniently located on the Unity Hospital Campus, the mission of Park Ridge Living Center is to provide quality care, independence, and a positive living experience for patients and elders. As a testament to our commitment to excellence, Park Ridge Living Center has achieved and maintained a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) since 2013. Only 10% of nursing homes in the country attain this five-star rating.
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Park Ridge Living Center
DEPARTMENT: Long Term Care
SCHEDULE: M-F Days, primarily
ATTRIBUTES
- Minimum of 4 years of nursing leadership experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing; preferably in long term care, rehabilitation or complex care.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, MSN preferred
- New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unit Management. Develop programs and strategies to monitor the quality of patient care and patient outcomes; promote collaboration with medical and administrative colleagues to establish unit and daily operation goals
- Staff Management. Identify staffing needs; collaborate with the Director to develop and implement recruitment plans; prepare, monitor and maintain salary and non-salary budgets; participate in professional development of staff
- Leadership. Demonstrated ability to influence others in both internal and external environments to promote optimal individual patient care and healthcare services to the public
