Appreciating Nurses in this challenging time

In this challenging time, it is the perfect opportunity to say “thanks” to nurses everywhere, for everything they do!

With the ongoing spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, nurses have stepped up to provide leadership and compassionate care to all who need it. Nurses continue to provide care, comfort and information to our patients and community.  Yes, nurses are "the wall" protecting our patients, our colleagues and our community!  We have seen amazing and resilient work done by nurses. (Yes, FIERCE!!!  Nurses are all WARRIORS)!   Nurses continue to be the front door to our community and are continuing to provide the care and comfort the community need.

Even when others are trying to figure out how to stay away from people as much as possible to avoid illness, nurses are gearing up for battle and running into the fire, knowingly putting themselves and their families at risk to save lives.

We hope you will continue to do everything possible to protect and care for yourself, friends, loved ones, and communities. Remember, “treat everyone as infectious.” So, use your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate.

Stay home if you can, stay healthy, and remember that even if you don't feel ill, your actions could protect vulnerable members of your family and community.

We your colleagues at the National Association of Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNNA) say thank you and be safe!
